While there is an agreement to sign, we only require a 30 days notice to cancel or change your plan. You are free to change your mind at any time about your plan level and if you need to cancel, we can easily transfer the hosting into your name! Versus other companies that require file migration.
Although we do promise to do everything in our power to prevent that from happening, some things are out of our control and we cannot promise that your website will never be hacked, go down or break. We have monitors in place 24/7 to alert us if your site is ever down. We will work fast to assess the issue and implement a speedy fix.
We feel very strongly about choosing the right host. If you are being hosted by and exceptional host such as WP Engine or SiteGround, we would consider it with an up-charge of 20%. Otherwise, we prefer to keep things as efficient as possible using our host, Kinsta.
We will first want to do a website audit to make sure your website is in good health and a good fit for us. We would then discuss any issues that need addressing on the front-end and a plan that fits your needs best. If you decide you would like SWD to rebuild your site with our tools, you receive our exclusive monthly hosting and care plan discount.
For optimal security, you MUST keep secure passwords. And because we don’t have time to visit each site that we manage daily or weekly, it is your responsibility to frequently visit your site and notify as soon as possible if you find things are broken or out of place.

Our website maintenance service does not include website edits, but we do offer this service at our hourly rate of $85.

The purpose of our Website Maintenance Service is to prevent this from happening, so ideally this won’t be the case. However, software as a whole is imperfect and things do break, and servers do go down. In that situation, we’ll be notified, investigate the situation, and get to working on the issue as soon as possible.

See the question “My website is down, what do I do?” if your site is currently down. If we encounter a problem, we will troubleshoot and likely need to roll it back to a safe and previous version at no charge.

If your site breaks due to plugin or theme incompatibility, we will troubleshoot to find a solution and fix the site. Since we cannot guarantee compatibility between all plugins and themes, some scenarios require that we invoice to invoice for the time it takes to fix the issue.

If your website is not loading, first check your site in a private or incognito window. Then, to make sure this is the same experience for everyone go to Down For Everyone Or Just Me https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com

→ If the website is down just for you, try clearing your browser history (cache and cookies) and reload with page.
→ If the website is down for everyone, send us an email, although our uptime monitor may have already alerted us to it.

→ If this happens outside office hours, determine how urgent this is for your business and either reach out to us the next business day or send us an email with “URGENT” in the subject line. A couple of common reasons your website might be down are:

  • Your domain has expired and the bill is due for payment
  • The web host is experiencing maintenance issues
  • If it’s neither of these things, we will investigate so we can get your site back online quickly.
CDN, a content delivery network refers to a geographically distributed group of servers which work together to provide fast delivery of internet content. A CDN allows for the quick transfer of assets needed to load your website page’s content, including HTML, javascript files, stylesheets, images, and videos.
